Donation gathering is on Now! You may leave items at the church over the next few weeks, and box packing day will be on Sunday 11/24, starting right after church. Lots of volunteers are needed, and kids can help! There’s a real need for donations – there are already 100 families on the list.
There are many ways to help:
Cash, Checks should be made out to New Creation Church and marked Food Drive in the memo (New Creation Tax ID# 77-0319494). No overhead is taken out of these donations.
Non-perishable groceries, such as bags of rice, dried beans, flour, sugar and corn meal, powdered milk, canned fruits and vegetables, coffee or tea, peanut butter, soup, pasta and pasta sauces, stuffing mixes, instant potatoes, cooking oil and corn husks
Non-grocery items including laundry detergent (smaller sizes allow us to give to more families), toilet paper, light bulbs, dish soap, hand soap, feminine hygiene products and diapers in any size
$10 grocery gift cards. Any grocery store is welcomed but Trader Joe’s and Safeway are within walking distance for our clients, most of whom do not have cars.
Fresh produce. We will accept this on the sorting day, November 24, 2013. Remember we have no refrigeration available.
Drivers are need to pick up the food boxes from New Creation on November 24 and delivery them to Almaden School by 7:00 am on November 26, 2013.
Volunteers are needed 7-11:30 am to distribute the boxes to our clients at Almaden School.
We can give your high school students community service hours for their help on Packing Day. Sign-up sheets are available at Explorer Preschool and New Creation Church. You can also email Sheila with your interest.
