Once again this year we will be giving Thanksgiving food boxes to needy families at Almaden Elementary School.  We will be collecting the following food items to put in the boxes:  bags of rice, dried beans, flour, sugar, and corn meal; bottle of cooking oil; 4 cans of vegetables; and a box of instant potatoes and powdered milk.  The following items are optional: canned fruits, coffee, tea, peanut butter, cake mixes, soups and $10 grocery gift cards.  There will be boxes at New Creation Lutheran Church into which you can place your food items.  We will be collecting food until November 21.

    This year we will be sorting the food and packing boxes on Sunday, November 21 and delivering and distributing the boxes to school on Tuesday, November 23. Please save the dates, we will need lots of volunteers to help on both dates.  We will also need trucks to help with the transporting of food so please consider helping in that way if you have a truck.

    Last year we committed to providing 50 boxes; we actually gave away 70.  We would like to meet or surpass that goal this year. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Apland or Cristina Beauchemin.
