What is the faith community’s unique contribution in movements for social justice?

Clergy and laity are invited to this seminar that offers spiritual/practical tools for social justice ministry. This half-day workshop examines the goals and strategies to “organize for God’s dream.” Topics include:  power-mapping that moves us to radical hope; learning to “identify the lie” and making visible our moral authority.

Leader: Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, Executive Director of CLUE-CA
Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice of California is a statewide alliance of multi-faith organizations that addresses the crisis of working poverty.  An ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, she has over 30 years experience in interfaith ministry, community organizing and legislative advocacy.  She has been awarded the Amos Award from Sojourners and the Prime Mover award from the Hunt Alternatives Fund.

The Interfaith Council is an association of more than 400 clergy and laity who address the crisis of working poverty and provide a moral framework for public dialogue on issues of social justice.
